Weather, Emergency & Unexpected Closures

At Gymnastics Central, the safety of our athletes, families, and staff is always our top priority.


While we make every effort to maintain our regular class schedule, there may be times when severe weather, power outages, or other unexpected circumstances require us to delay opening, close early, or cancel classes.  We appreciate your understanding and flexibility when these situations arise.


Severe Weather & Winter Conditions

During the winter months, snow, ice, and hazardous road conditions can sometimes affect our operating schedule.


Gymnastics Central makes closure decisions based on local weather conditions, road safety, and the ability to operate our facility safely.

Please note that Gymnastics Central does not automatically follow local school district closings.


School districts may close for transportation or other reasons that do not necessarily affect our ability to operate safely.

We evaluate each situation independently and will communicate any schedule changes as soon as possible.


Emergency & Unexpected Closures

In addition to weather-related situations, unexpected closures may occur due to:

  • Power outages
  • Heating, cooling, or facility equipment failures
  • Water or utility interruptions
  • Severe storms or emergency weather warnings
  • Building maintenance or safety concerns
  • Other unforeseen circumstances

In these situations, Gymnastics Central may need to cancel classes, delay opening, or close early to ensure everyone's safety.


How We Communicate Closures

When a closure or schedule change is necessary, we will make every effort to notify families as quickly as possible.


Closure announcements may be communicated through:


We encourage families to keep their contact information current in the Parent Portal and check our communication channels when severe weather is expected.


If no closure announcement has been made, classes are generally expected to run as scheduled.


Makeup Tokens for Gym Closures

When Gymnastics Central cancels a scheduled class due to weather, power outages, or other unexpected facility closures, affected athletes will receive a makeup token that does not expire.


These tokens may be used for:

  • Another age- and skill-appropriate class with an available opening.
  • An Open Gym session.


Makeup opportunities are subject to availability and must be scheduled through our front desk.

Tuition During Closures

Gymnastics Central operates on a monthly subscription-based tuition system, with tuition calculated using a four-class monthly structure.  Because some months have more scheduled classes than others, monthly tuition remains consistent throughout the year.  When we cancel a scheduled class due to an unexpected closure, a non-expiring makeup token will be provided rather than a reduction in monthly tuition.

Even when Gymnastics Central remains open, we understand that weather and road conditions may vary depending on where you live.

Please use your best judgment when deciding whether it is safe for your family to travel to the gym.
