About the Owner


 

Jim Bartley has been involved in the sport of gymnastics for over 35 years.  He is experienced in almost every aspect of the sport, including being a competitive gymnast, an instructor (coach), and a gym owner.

He began his training at a YMCA in Cincinnati.  He competed throughout high school and college during which he obtained the following titles:

•  4 time state all around champion
•  2 time regional (5 states) all around champion
•  Finalist at the World Age group games (tumbling)
•  Earned a scholarship to Ohio State University
•  Voted most valuable gymnast his sophomore year at OSU. 
    

Shortly after graduating from OSU, Jim opened his first gym in Lima, Ohio, where he remained for the next 9 years.  During that time, he grew the business to over 400 students, and trained several gymnasts who competed at the national level and obtained college scholarships.  Most recently, he was partners in Hyde Park Gymnastics which had an enrollment of 1200 students.  Jim sold his half of the business so that he could start a business known as:

About Our Instructors

Accreditation

The sport of gymnastics is governed by an organization known as USA Gymnastics.  This organization provides the sport with many services, including education and SAFETY CERTIFICATION.  Instructors at Gymnastics Central are safety certified.


Staff:

Richard Mousir - Tumbling and Trampoline
Richard made his start in Tumbling and Trampoline in his high school years.  In 1991 he attended his first of 9 Canadian National Championships.  In 1994 he attended his first international event representing Canada in the Indo-Pacific Championship.  The team won the silver medal. 

Richard is a world class tumbler, representing Canada since 1996 - 1999 in the FIG World Championships consecutinve years, high lited by his qualification to the World Cup (where he was one of only 11 men in the world to be accepted to the competition).   

Richard is now Gymnastics Central's head  Tumbling and Trampoline coach.   He is energetic and provides a positive atmosphere for the team.

Murtaz Tskhvedadze - Gymnastics, Tumbling and Trampoline
Murtaz is originally from The Republic of Georgia, where he trained as an gymnast for 13 years, and began his coaching career.   His extensive background includes 26 years of being head coach at the Institute of Physical Culture in Tbilisi, was a Doctoral Candidate in 1990, and was an associate professor instructing future coaches for the school and the Georgian elite program. 

Murtaz secured his first U.S. coaching position at Hyde Park Gymnastics where he became head boys coach and also helped rebuild the girls competitive program.   To Murtaz, his achievement he is most proud of is his US citizenship which he obtained in 2005.

He is presently team coach for the gymnastics team as well as recreational gymnastics instructor for all programs ages 5 & up.

Amy Zech

Amy has been coaching for 4 years.  She is head coach for levels 3 and 4, and also program director for ages 5 & 6.  A native of Cincinnati, Amy was a competitive gymnast for 3 years during which she achieved a status of level 7.  She is presently a student at the The University of Cincinnati, majoring in physical therapy.

 STEVE WILLARD

Steve was a two time All American on vault and floor exercise; attended Ohio State and Louisiana State.  He has 35 years of coaching experience.
